Fireside - Choosing Grommets + How to Place Them

Choosing a grommet tool and grommet size can be a little confusing! I am here to help, I will be going over where you can purchase grommet tools and table presses as well as what size grommets are best to use when making your Fireside.

Choosing Grommet Size

Grommet size will vary by manufacturer. I will go over the grommets I have purchased.

For the Girls' Fireside you will be looking for a 1/4", 5mm or #0  size grommet. These can be found at Joann's and Hobby Lobby as well as on Etsy. For the girls' sizes 5T-14 you can also use the size 5/16", 8mm or #1 size grommet found at Hobby Lobby.

Grommets needed:

Sizes 2T-4T - 16 grommets per top
Sizes 5-14 - 20 grommets per top

For the Women's Fireside you will be looking for a 3/8", 10mm or #2 size grommet. These can be found on Etsy. You can also use the size 15/32", 12mm or #3 grommets found at Hobby Lobby or the 1/2" found at Joann's.

You will need 20 grommets per Women's Fireside.

Grommet Hand Tools

You can find quite a few grommet tools at your local craft stores including Hobby Lobby, Joann, and Micheals.

Grommet Table Top Press

There are quite a few different table top press options out there. Below are the press machines that Mandalynn, Erin and myself use.
